I am used to booking hotel nights and looking at the cruise only rates quoted - they are also priced by the per night rate for seven nights and this would be the cost per person based on double occupancy - is this a new way to see the value of a unique cruise like this?
Yes, just like a luxury hotel, your stateroom accommodations will serve as your hotel (view based on your choice of stateroom). This cruise is a better value than a hotel stay because the cost per night, per person includes your accommodations, your meals, your entertainment, your access to the exclusive and private Wine Makers wine tastings and culinary events. And remember, the ship will be your sailing transportation from port to port ~ no airplanes, packing and unpacking... just your floating luxury ship!
Sure, there are other cruises offered to the Caribbean, but on this Wine Makers cruise you are cruising with a group and it includes very special amenities that are included in the price which makes this sailing an exceptional value.
What kind of private events are held on this WineMakers Cruise?
We will have a minimum of two private in-depth wine tastings with our Wine Makers. These wine tastings are exclusive in that we will have had the wine of these wine makers brought onboard solely for our private events. There will be a fine dining private lunch with paired wines by these wine makers. Special amenities will also be extended to our group.
The insight gained from these wine makers is priceless. On this week long cruise, there will be many opportunities to have "glass-to-glass" time with these wine makers and share in their passion for the art of wine making.
What is not included in the cruise only cost?
Port taxes/fees of $88.90 per person are not included. Additional costs on the cruise can include tips, shore excursions, specialty beverages including bar drinks, spa services, gaming and onboard shop purchases. Please note that currently cruise lines have suspended fuel supplement fees but Holland America, like the other cruise lines, reserves the right to reinstate.
When you make your inquiry, we will be happy to assist in calculating your total cruise cost. Just a note, rate is cruise only and your airfare to and from Ft. Lauderdale and the pre-cruise hotel option are additional.
Do you suggest that we come in one day early prior to the cruise?
We highly suggest that you come in at least one day prior to any cruise. This helps eliminate the possibility of flight delays or cancelations that may cause you to miss your cruise. Plus, why start out your vacation stressed out when you can arrive at least a day early and relax and enjoy. And if you stay in our group hotel, you are invited to the "Port Ft. Lauderdale Special Event". Our block of rooms at a hotel will have transportation from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the pier included in your hotel package. More details to come.
